Heating oil delivery log 2025
Rounding up to 114 gallons delivered, that seems to be an average of 1.56 gallons of usage over 67 days.
Winter 2025 in the Northeast is colder than the last two winter seasons, so even with the portable heat pump in the living room, it gets turned off at night, and heating oil is used overnight, and for the water heater. Basement temperatures have been under 50 F with winter temperatures of 20s F or less. For a property older than 130 years of age that clearly lacks insulation, even in the newer extension of the kitchen, well, the portable heat pump has been working well.
This is the first delivery from switching to Bottini Fuel, which I had called the main office in November and went through the possibilities of locking in a rate, a potential delivery for May, based off nearly a full tank when I had called to set things up for a maintenance plan to begin in January. So, it was a surprise to receive the heating oil delivery, and I greeted the driver to accept the receipt, and enjoyed the chat. We have something in common. As for the delivery itself, he said he has been serving the route for twenty-seven years. That’s great, serving the community for a local business that aigns with the schedule he wants, as he serves the route from September through March.
Spring 2025: April heating oil delivery, 160 gallons which covered twelve weeks. Not that I would discuss in actual practice the nuances involved in filling and using a full tank which affects the total usage, however for rounding purposes, around 300 gallons would be needed to cover part of the fall, winter sesason, and part of the spring season.
This household does not anticipate another delivery for the rest of the year, as the full tank should last the remainder of the year, so the next refill can wait until January.
